Feeling like a rock star? Take the stage at the Hard Rock Cafe in downtown San Diego and savor that moment in the spotlight.

    Are you ready to rock?

Well, if you’re at least ready to pretend to be a rock star, a turn on the stage could help you score some free food -- and perhaps some adoring fans -- at the Hard Rock Café in downtown San Diego.

On Tuesday, to take away the inevitable pain and stress of Tax Day, Hard Rock patrons can live out their ultimate rock star fantasy by taking center stage at the restaurant. At the “Sing for Your Supper” event, guests will get a chance to choose their favorite song and perform the heck out of it under the bright lights.

And, though there won’t be any personal backstage rider requests or a huge rock star paycheck, those who perform a complete song on the live music stage in front of the entire restaurant will be treated to a free entrée from Hard Rock’s new menu.

Not too shabby for a one-hit wonder, right?

The freebie items include dishes like the Grilled Vegetable Sandwich, Arugula Salad with Shaved Marinated Chicken, Fiesta Burger or Veggie Burger.

The event kicks off at 5 p.m. at the Hard Rock Café downtown, which is located at 801 4th Avenue.

Sing for Your Supper is also happening at other participating locations around the country, according to the company.

Okay superstar, nothing left to do but warm up those vocal chords and work on those showstopping high kicks. Just no autographs. Goodnight, everybody!
