Batman, Marvel and Daredevil to Mark Milestones at Comic-Con

Thousands will attend Comic-Con 2014 in San Diego next month

Every year, fans attending Comic-Con in San Diego mark a milestone in pop culture and this year’s event is no different.

In fact, three historic milestones will be celebrated in 2014.

Both Batman and Marvel Comics will mark their 75th Anniversary at the convention this July.

In 1939, National (DC Comics) published Detective Comics #27 and brought to life Batman.

Also that year, Martin Goodman launched his first comic book title, Marvel Comics although many comic book fans remember the Fantastic Four’s debut much later in 1961.

The convention will also mark the 50th anniversary of Daredevil. Created by Stan Lee and Bill Everett, the blind superhero debuted in 1964 and has grown to be one of the most popular characters in comics.

The convention is slated for July 24 – 27 at the San Diego Convention Center.

The Comic-Con event schedule – including special Batman, Marvel and Daredevil events – will be released two weeks before the doors open.
