Get creative with your cutie, and plan a date under $25 by combining North County San Diego parks, recreation and events with local business.

Yelp is here to help with some tried and true date details, guaranteed to impress your amore. The love of your life will totally fall for these interactive cheap date ideas, we don’t mind if you take the credit!

San Marcos

Do your love life a favor and head straight over to Dolce Italia Desserts! Call ahead and order an authentic 18” Salsiccia Pizza (sausage and mushrooms, $15.95) to go. Have Chef Salvo or Latizia help you choose a couple of their uber decadent and stunningly beautiful creations as dessert. They’ve got a wide range of individually sized selections that start at $3.65 each. Box those babies up and then head over to Lakeview Park. The shaded picnic tables are the perfect place to enjoy your blissful al fresco dinner date.

Escondido
You and your honey will be wrapped around each other during Happy Hour in the “Living Room” at Intertwined Bistro & Wine Bar. Glasses of wine start as low as $6 Tuesday through Friday from 4-6:30pm. Pair your drink selections with The Slider Burger Trio (blue cheese, tomato, caramelized pears, smoked bacon, garlic aioli, $7) and if you play your cards right, you could coincide with Cruisin’ on Grand (on Friday nights). An evening stroll and muscle cars? Now that’s a dream date!

Carlsbad

Nothing is more romantic than a late evening walk on the beach and the village (free parking!) has you covered. Make your night a little sweeter with a stop into the Carlsbad Chocolate Bar. They’re open till 9 p.m. during the week and 10 p.m. on weekends. Order Hot Chocolates or White Chocolate Mochas to go (around $3.50-4.75 each) then head West to walk the beach-side stretch of promenade. If things are going well, saunter into Relm wine bistro for a glass of wine or microbrew ($7-8) to top off the night.

Encinitas
Who says it’s got to be date night? Say good morning to your babe with a couple South Peak Breakfast burritos from the Cardiff Seaside Market (eggs, bacon, home fries & cheddar cheese, around $6 each). For the perfect spot to pitch this AM picnic, head North on San Elijo Avenue and park on the left in the dirt lots. The view will get you all the points you’ll need! Icing on the cake? Continue down to Hwy 101 and stop in for a Salted Caramel Latte at the Lofty Coffee Company. (Around $4 each, caramel made from scratch on site!) We promise it’ll be a morning to remember.

Solana Beach & Del Mar
Place an order to go for a couple of sammies at The Lockwood Table Café. We suggest The Cedros sandwich (turkey, bacon, avocado, gruyere on grilled sourdough, $8.25) and The Lomas (chicken breast, roasted red pepper, bacon, gouda on grilled ciabatta roll, $8.25) with a tossed salad to share ($4.25-5). And were to take this picnic? Afternoon delight awaits you, your significant other and man’s best friend at Del Mar Dog Beach.  Let you pup run amuck till Memorial Day leash laws kick in while you and your +1 "ooo" and "aww" as you watch your dog bound in the surf.
