Stalking Charges Filed Against Knife-Wielding Ryan Seacrest Fan

A man who waited outside Ryan Seacrest's Los Angeles office building brandishing a knife was officially charged with stalking the "American Idol" host Monday afternoon, days after he was arrested.

Chidi Uzomah Jr., 25, is facing a felony stalking charge for showing up at a Seacrest event last week even though he had already been ordered to stay away from the star. In September, Uzomah pleaded guilty to attacking Seacrest's bodyguard in California, and last Friday, Uzomah walked into the E! building holding a knife.

Uzomah, an ex-Army soldier, was detained by security last Friday and given to the Los Angeles Police Department. He is still in custody.

Uzomah is facing up to four years in state prison.

Seacrest will return to TV on the next season of "American Idol," which will feature newly crowned judge Ellen DeGeneres. He's also a producer, working behind the scenes on reality hits like "Keeping Up With the Kardashians."
