“The Bachelorette” Chooses Guy She Has “Burning Passion” For

The dental student from Maine kept two hopeful bachelors guessing til the last.

It never seems quite right to say someone won a game show by getting engaged. But, “Bachelorette” Ashley Herbert did just that, finding Mr. Right through the highly romantic medium of…reality television.

JP Rosenbaum from Long Island and Ben Flajnik from California battled over Herbert’s heart in a grueling 2-hour finale.

In the end, Hebert chose the 34-year-old construction manager over winemaker Ben, despite her half-sister's doubts in J.P. In fact, Ashley let Ben pour out a heartfelt proposal before even telling him, “this is the hardest thing I've done here." She goes on to tell him what a great, wonderful guy he is.

"What I don't need you to do is sugarcoat it," Ben told her curtly. "You can't leave something like this on good terms."

This is possibly the biggest truth to come from reality television, at least this season.

In any sense, Ben trudges dejectedly from the proposal platform, clearing the way for JP.

“I don’t want to be with anyone else but you forever,” Ashley told him.

Ashley accepted JP’s marriage proposal on the show for all to see. Tabloids and blogs have speculated for weeks that JP was the season's winner.

Ashley is a 26-year-old Madawaska, Maine, native and now lives in Philadelphia, attending dental school. According to EW, the happy couple will move to New York after she finishes school, and then talk about wedding plans.

She's the seventh "Bachelorette" in the show's history and has competed on "The Bachelor" for Brad Womack's affections in season 15.

So far, only two couples from "The Bachelor" and "The Bachelorette" franchise have made it down the aisle. But we're sure the two will be very happy together.
