Paula Abdul is getting back in the talent-search TV game.

The ex-"American Idol" judge will headline ABC's reboot of the hit TV series "Star Search," Entertainment Weekly reported Monday.

Abdul was long-rumored to be in talks with ABC since her departure last summer from the monster Fox hit that saw her replaced with comedian Ellen DeGeneres.

The "Straight Up" singer was originally rumored to be appearing on the network's smash "Dancing With the Stars" but instead landed in a gig on the "Star Search" remake, slated to premiere this summer.

It wasn't immediately clear what Abdul's duties will be on "Star Search," but Entertainment Weekly's Michael Ausiello speculated it would be a mix of hosting and judging.

ABC refused to comment to EW.

Fellow "Idol" judge Simon Cowell will also depart the show this year to work on "The X Factor," a U.S. version of his British hit.
