Bono, Keys, Timberlake, Sting, Aguilera to Headline Haiti Telethon

40 celebrities to attend telethon

Bono, Alicia Keys, Justin Timberlake, Sting and Christina Aguilera will be among the performers at George Clooney’s Haiti relief telethon on Friday, the “Up in the Air” actor has revealed.

Speaking from the red carpet at the Golden Globes, Clooney said more than 40 celebrities are expected to attend the multi-network telethon.

"We're going to have a lot of great musicians — we're putting them together as we speak, and then we'll be able to release the songs on iTunes the next day, so that they'll be a continuing ability to make money for several of the charities," Clooney told E News!

Clooney said he had no mixed feelings about hobnobbing with Hollywood’s hoi polloi at the Globes two nights after having skipped the “Critics’ Choice Awards” to prepare for the telethon.

"This is the perfect place for me to go and recruit some people," Clooney said.

Friday’s telethon will air on ABC, CBS, NBC, FOX, CNN, BET, the CW, HBO, MTV, VH1 and CMT at 8 p.m.

It will be hosted by Clooney in Los Angeles, Wyclef Jean in New York and CNN's Anderson Cooper in Haiti, MTV News reported.
