If Francis Ford Coppola can have his own wine, why not a pop-rock band?
San Francisco-based band Train (comprised of singer Patrick Monahan, guitarist Jimmy Stafford, and drummer Scott Underwood) announced on their wine club blog that they will be releasing a 2009 Petite Sirah, named after their popular 2001 song, “Drops of Jupiter.”
The song was resurrected by “The Voice” finalist Vicci Martinez, who sang the song as a duet with Monahan.
It’s not all about their celebrity, though. Stafford writes that part of the proceeds benefit San Francisco non-profit organization Family House, a place that offers aid to families with children being treated at the University of San Francisco’s Benioff Children’s Hospital.
So, what do drops of Jupiter taste like? “I like to say that the minute you uncork the bottle, the boysenberry fruit leaps from your glass!” Stafford writes.
But, perhaps the best news of all: a taste of Jupiter will only set you back $9.99.
