J.Lo Returning To “Idol,” Maybe

When Jennifer Lopez appeared on the "Today" show, "American Idol" fans were anticipating a big announcement - namely, that the singer and actress would once again be joining Randy Jackson and Steven Tyler as host next season.

She didn't say she was, but she didn't say she wasn't, either.

When asked by host Ann Curry about a possible return, Lopez said only "I love working on 'American Idol,' love doing it. I have no announcement to make as of this moment, but I promise, you guys will be the first [to know]."

Instead, Lopez talked about her new music venture, the live music event iHeartRadio.

Fans of American Idol sat with baited breath last month, after Jackson and Tyler signed on to judge another season of the show. A source reportedly told E! Online that Lopez was definitely coming back, but no official word has come out of the either the Lopez or Idol camps.

"I had an amazing time doing it and I loved it, but I have a lot other things happening, and it's going to come down to me making a choice of what I want to do for the next year and we're not really at the breaking point of 'You have to make a decision right now!'" she told BBC 1.

Lopez joined the popular singing competition last year with the hopes of kicking her career back into action.
