That’s a whole lot of galleons. The first installment of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” raked in over $61 million on Friday, according to early estimates.

The midnight showings raked in much of the earnings, with a staggering $24 million, the Associated Press reports.

That still puts “Deathly Hallows” in third place for the record of midnight debuts, with “Twilight: Eclipse” and “Twilight: New Moon” holding the top two spots with $30 million and $26.3 million, respectively.

Out of all the films, the only one grossing over $100 million in its opening weekend domestically was “Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire,” the fourth film in the seven book saga. Hollywood.com analyst Paul Dergarbedian thinks this film has the chance to do the same.

The seventh film chronicles wizarding friends Harry, Ron, and Hermione as they battle through seemingly impossible odds to destroy Horcruxes, relics left by Lord Voldemort that contain fragments of his soul. Without first destroying this fragments, Voldemort cannot be defeated.
