Well, Vincent Cassel. Well played.

Monica Bellucci has joined the cast of what is sure to be an "important movie" about the horrors of sex trafficking in post-war Yugoslavia.

Bellucci will star alongside Rachel Weisz and Vanessa Redgrave in "The Whistleblower," which is scheduled to begin filming in Romania on Oct. 26, according to Screen Daily.

Weisz will star as a character based on Kathryn Bolkovac, a real-life American cop who went to work security in post-war Bosnia in 1999, only to uncover the sexual abuse of teenage girls at the hands of United Nations police.

Bolkovac claimed she was fired after she sent emails to her superiors at DynCorp, a private security firm contracted by the U.N., detailing the exploitation of women as young as 15 at the hands of the people sent to protect them, the New York Times reported in 2002.

One officer even "bought" a young woman for $2,777 and kept her in his apartment, according to a U.N. report.

Weisz's performance in the flawed-but-enteratining "Brothers Bloom" earlier this was a revelation, showing she could be both funny and sexy. So much for that.
