Top Moments From the 2017 Golden Globes Awards

From 'Hidden Fences' to Meryl's takedown of Trump...here are the top moments from the Golden Globes

If you were watching the Golden Globes on NBC Sunday night, it didn't take long for you to get to Golden Globes moment No. 1.

The Mysterious Case of the Broken Teleprompter
No, it wasn't a gag. The teleprompter really wasn't working at the start of the telecast. It was a moment host Jimmy Fallon took in stride, but still a dubious start to the show.

โ€œThis is a great way to start the show. I can do impressions,โ€ Fallon offered as he stalled. โ€œCut to Justin Timberlake, please.โ€

A Final Farewell for Debbie Reynolds and Carrie Fisher
If there's one thing Hollywood knows how to do well, it's say goodbye to its own. The telecast produced a touching farewell to the mother, daughter duo.

Fisher died Dec. 27 after having a heart attack on a flight the week prior, and her mother Reynolds died the following day after being hospitalized.

Six candidates have jumped in the race so far to become the next governor of California.

Meryl Streep Sets Aim at Donald Trump
Trump was the target of several pointed barbs during the telecast, but no one took aim quite like Meryl Streep. During her acceptance of her lifetime achievement award, the multiple Oscar winner took much of her time on stage to hurl verbal grenades at the president-elect.

"That instinct to humiliate when itโ€™s modeled by someone in a public platform, it filters down into everyoneโ€™s life because it gives permission for others to do the same," Streep said in referring to Trump.

Diversity, Diversity, Diversity
In a sharp rebuke to recent controversies surrounding the Academy Awards, the Golden Globes embraced diversity by bestowing wins upon several actors of color including Tracee Ellis Ross, Viola Davis and Donald Glover. "Atlanta" won the globe for best television series, musical or comedy and in a surprise win "Moonlight" took home the final award of the night for best motion picture, drama.

It's 'Hidden Figures'...Not Hidden Fences
OK, maybe we can see how someone could make this flub. But it's still embarrassing. Wouldn't you agree, Jenna Bush Hager? But the look on Pharrell face almost made the gaffe worth it.
