A university student who won free tuition for a semester after sinking a half-court shot has scored again, this time winning a new car.

Ball State University freshman Lem Turner, of Vernon Hills, Illinois, made his first lucky shot at a pep rally in August for upcoming athletic events in the new school year. Turner got only one chance to win the free tuition, but after taking a few seconds to prepare, he shot the basketball straight into the hoop with seeming ease.

Turner appeared on the "The Ellen DeGeneres Show" on Monday for another chance to win big. This time, he got three tries and was allowed to stand much closer to the hoop. In front of a national audience, the college freshman missed the first two shots, but he scored on the last.

DeGeneres did not reveal what his prize would be beforehand, but after Turner sunk the winning shot, the doors behind the hoop opened up to show a brand new Ford Focus SE Sedan. The car will replace his 2000 SAAB that constantly breaks down, Turner told DeGeneres.
