Billy Crystal to Honor Robin Williams at 2014 Emmy Awards

Robin Williams is getting a special tribute at the 2014 Emmy Awards.

Williams' longtime friend, former "Father's Day" co-star and fellow comedian Billy Crystal will lead a tribute to the late actor during Monday's awards ceremony in L.A. Emmys producer Don Mischer confirmed the news Wednesday, saying, "We felt we needed to do something powerful and memorable. Billy seemed like the perfect choice."

Fans have been speculating about whether or not Williams would get a special in memoriam tribute at the Emmys following Hollywood's outpouring of remembrances and special wishes for the fallen star. And last week, Mischer confirmed there would be a special segment to honor the Oscar winner.

"Plans for the In Memoriam segment are in discussion," Mischer said in a statement. "While we are all still coming to terms with this week's tragic news, we are working to give Robin Williams the proper and meaningful remembrance he so well deserves."

This will be the first time Crystal has spoke at length about Williams' death. Crystal did not release a statement following his passing. He simply took to Twitter several days ago to write, "No words."
Williams, 63, was found dead at his home on Aug. 11 after committing suicide.
