Alec Baldwin Quits Twitter Again After Spat Over Wife's Tweets

"30 Rock" star calls British reporter a "toxic queen" after he and wife were accused of tweeting during James Gandolfini's funeral.

Television and film star Alec Baldwin has quit Twitter once again after a British reporter said Baldwin's pregnant wife tweeted while attending James Gandolfini's funeral.

The Daily Mail's George Stark was the target of the "30 Rock" star's ire after linking to tweets that showed Hilaria Baldwin's account tweeted earlier in the morning about her prior appearance on the Rachael Ray show. During services honoring "The Sopranos" star, Baldwin apparently retweeted a Rachael Ray post that promoted her smoothies and asked for tips for wedding anniversary gifts.

Baldwin's account also posted a tweet at 10:17 a.m., the same time that Gandolfini's friends were speaking at his funeral, according to Stark.

"The circle of life is unbelievable--birth, life, death… Please take care of yourselves as life is fragile," the tweet said. "Rest in Peace Jimmy."

Hours later, Stark published a piece calling out Hilaria Baldwin, prompting Alec Baldwin to fire back on Twitter.

Over the course of several tweets, Baldwin referred to Stark as a "toxic little queen" and said several times that he'd inflict physical harm upon the writer if he ever found him. At one point, Baldwin said he would put his foot up Stark's rear, but feared Stark would "dig it too much." Baldwin went on to ask his followers to join in on the insults.

Hilaria, for her part, said that she didn't bring her phone to the event and "never would," she wrote on Twitter.

Witnesses told the New York Daily News that Hilaria left her phone in the car. The tweets in question where apparently sent from the car on the way home from the funeral, a source told the Daily News.

In his article, Stark also said that Alec Baldwin himself tweeted during the event, promoting a new movie, "Dirty Wars," before he tweeted, "The end of The Sopranos has a different meaning to me now. Rest in Peace, Jimmy."

This isn't the first time Baldwin has quit Twitter. On Feb. 19, Baldwin reached 10,000 tweets and told the world he thought he'd "take some time to do other things in the world." In July 2012, Baldwin left the app after he married Hilaria and in December 2011, Baldwin stopped using the microblogging site after he was kicked off an American Airlines flight for refusing to shut off his phone.
