Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal Reunite 25 Years After β€œWhen Harry Met Sally”

It's about time!

Twenty-five years after "When Harry Met Sally" was released, Meg Ryan and Billy Crystal teamed up to honor Rob Reiner, who was 41st recipient of the Film Society of Lincoln Center's Chaplin Award. Ryan, 52, and Crystal, 66, were just a handful of stars who showed up to support the iconic director.

During their time on stage, the co-stars recalled shooting the movie's infamous fake-orgasm scene. They also imagined their characters' futures, with both actors agreeing that Harry would still be a political consultant, working for New York City Mayor Bill de Blasio. Crystal then joked about the politician's efforts to rid Central Park of horse-drawn carriages, saying that Harry walked into his office one day and said, "I just stepped in the biggest pile of horses--t. Can you do something about this?"

Earlier that night, Crystal told The Hollywood Reporter that many of Harry and Sally's scenes were based on things he and Reiner did, like calling each other up in the middle of the night and telling the other one to watch a movie on a certain TV channel. "That was so personal to us because many of the things that Harry and Sally did in the movie, Rob and I did as friends, which we just talked about and Nora [Ephron] was able to work into the script," Crystal said. "That bonding was very much Rob and I."

Last year, Crystal recently reprised his voice role as Mike Wazowski in "Monsters University." Ryan, meanwhile, has reportedly been tapped to narrate CBS' upcoming sitcom, "How I Met Your Dad."

Other attendees at Monday's event included James Caan, Michael Douglas, Regis Philbin and Martin Scorsese. Reiner--who also directed "This Is Spinal Tap," "The Princess Bride," "Stand By Me" and "A Few Good Men"--also received video messages from Tom Cruise, Morgan Freeman and Mandy Patinkin.

Addressing his wife and three children, Reiner, 67, said, "The fact that you're here: that means everything. You know, we love to make movies, but ultimately [family] is more important, and I learned that, along with other things that [my wife] has taught me about how to be a real person."
