Mariah Carey Says James Packer Marriage Wasn't β€˜Meant to Be'

Mariah Carey is opening up about her split from James Packer.

Back in October it was revealed that Carey and her fiance had ended their relationship and now the "Mariah's World" star is talking about her breakup in an exclusive interview with E! News.

In the premiere episode of "Mariah's World" we'll see Carey making wedding plans. When asked if it's hard to now relive those moments Mariah says, "No."

She explains, "No it's just, you know, all things in life it's just like you gotta see what's meant to be and if it's meant to be it's meant to be and if it's not then ultimately you just have to accept that and move on."

One of the ways Carey moves on after a breakup is by working on music, which she calls her "saving grace."

On the premiere episode, Carey discusses a past troubled relationship that she went through before Packer where she felt like she was trapped in a castle. That experience inspired Carey to write one of her most emotional songs of all time, "Butterfly."

"Music in general has always helped me, its been my saving grace for my entire life," Mariah explains.
