Live Nation to Declare May 5 as National Concert Day

Live Nation wants music lovers to add National Concert Day to their calendars.

The live-events company announced plans Thursday to declare May 5 as National Concert Day and revealed a special event to mark the occasion.

Kid Rock, Florida Georgia Line and other acts will perform at a May 5 concert at New York's Irving Plaza to celebrate National Concert Day.

Live Nation said the new holiday was intended to celebrate music artists, record labels, live music industry leaders, tour managers and their teams who work to produce live music experiences for fans.

Other performers set to appear at the May 5 concert include Billy Corgan of the Smashing Pumpkins, Kip Moore, Metric, Mick Jones of Foreigner, Rae Sremmurd, Tinashe and Wiz Khalifa.
