WATCH: Darlene Love Performs “Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)” One Last Time for David Letterman

If there's one voice that sounds like Christmas, it has to be Darlene Love's.

Nobody agrees with that statement more than David Letterman who has had the legendary singer perform on his late night show every year for almost three decades.

On Friday evening's show, however, Love would sing "Christmas (Baby Please Come Home)" one last time. The reason? Letterman is set to retire in May 2015.

Complete with fake snow, a full band and festive attire, Love went out big for her final performance.

The tradition first began in 1986 when Letterman's program was on NBC and Love only had a small four-piece band. Between her powerful voice and memorable performances, the Rock and Roll Hall of Famer was always asked back year after year.

So is there any chance that the tradition can continue on as the new "Late Show" host Stephen Colbert takes over? Don't count on it.

During a recent interview, Love made it clear that she's only performing for one special host.

"People say, '[Letterman] can't demand that,'" the 73-year-old shared. "I say, 'He's not demanding.' I made a point myself, and I want to do it just for David."

For those too busy sleeping or participating in some late-night shopping, you're in luck! Watch the amazing performance again and again above.
