Caitlyn Jenner to Attend Donald Trump Inauguration: Report

Jenner is going to the event as a guest of the American Unity Fund

Caitlyn Jenner will attend President-elect Donald Trump’s inauguration Friday “to bring attention to LGBTQ causes,” People magazine reports.

Jenner, 67, is going to the event as a guest of the American Unity Fund, a conservative LGBTQ rights advocacy organization.

“Caitlyn has been a Republican all her life and she sees this as an opportunity to represent and defend the LGBTQ community within her own party,” a source close to Jenner told People, adding, “She has no problem speaking out if Republicans fail to protect equal rights.”

The “I Am Cait” star, meanwhile, offered to serve as a bridge between Republicans and the LGBTQ community, tweeting Wednesday: "Republicans need help understanding LGBTQ issues and I'm here to help!"

In April, Trump said he supported transgender people using whatever bathroom they choose during an interview on the "Today" show. A few days later, Jenner made a video of herself going into the women's bathroom at New York's Trump International Hotel and Tower.

"A trans woman in New York, I gotta take a pee. Anyway... Oh my God, Trump International Tower, I love this," Jenner says in her Facebook video. "OK, last week Donald Trump said I could take a pee anywhere in a Trump facility. I am gonna go take a pee in the ladies' room."

Jenner, who was formerly known as Bruce Jenner, made her name and gender change official in September 2015.
