A Miami-Dade judge closed out a charge against "Scarface" actor Steven Bauer with a withhold of adjudication Tuesday, after he was arrested early Tuesday morning for driving with a suspended license, authorities said.

“At the end of the day, I saw the judge and he looked over the whole thing and he said well, this is not of any value to anybody now and you may go," said Bauer, whose real name is Steven Echevarria. "So he dismissed the case and I went on my way."

Sweetwater Police told NBC 6 South Florida that an officer pulled over Bauer in a 2002 Nissan Altima after he made an improper left turn at the intersection of Southwest 107th Avenue and West Flagler Street.

The actor was given a warning, but a check of his driver's license revealed an open 12-year-old warrant for driving with a suspended license. Miami-Dade Corrections records show Bauer was arrested just after 4 a.m.

Bauer said police told him that he had to be taken in on the warrant. He said he was treated well by Sweetwater Police and by officials at the Miami-Dade County Jail.

“They were very nice to me there, over there. Everybody knew me as the hometown guy, and obviously ‘Scarface’ is very popular with people in the correctional world,” he said. "So that was very much the talk of my arrival, and it continued through the evening."

Wilmar Machado, 23, who was in the front passenger seat of the car, was arrested for possession of marijuana, police said. Police said they saw a baggie of marijuana and a glass pipe when she reached into her purse to show identification, Sweetwater Police said.

It wasn't immediately known if Machado had an attorney.

Bauer co-starred opposite Al Pacino in the film 1983 movie "Scarface." Bauer also starred on the bilingual PBS show "Qué Pasa, USA." He played the teenage son of a Cuban exile family in Miami from 1977 to 1979.
