Obama, Oprah to Attend Star-Studded Chelsea Clinton Wedding

Chelsea Clinton’s wedding is shaping up to be an A-list affair.

President Obama, Oprah Winfrey, Barbara Streisand and a former British head of state are among a select group of the rich and powerful expected to attend Clinton’s wedding to investment banker Marc Mezvinsky later this month in upstate New York, according to the Hudson Valley News.

The former first daughter’s nuptials will take place July 31 at the Astor Court mansion in Rhinebeck village, 90 miles north of New York City, the local newspaper reported.

Also on the 500-person guestlist: former British Prime Minister John Major, Kate Capshaw and Steven Spielberg, historian Doris Kearns Goodwin, CNN founder Ted Turner, and ex-Bill Clinton campaign aide Terry McAuliffe.

Earlier this month, news outlets reported Clinton had selected Astor Court – a 50-acre estate once owned by wealthy scion John Jacob Astor IV -- to wed her longtime beau. Representatives from the Clintons have been mum with specifics on the hot-ticket wedding.

Rhinebeck, a weekend getaway for wealthy New Yorkers, has been a popular destination with the Clintons for past political fundraising, according to the News.

Clinton, 30, reportedly began dating Mezvinsky, 32, five years ago.

Besides being Stanford alums, the couple both come from political families. Mezvinsky’s father Ed, a former congressman, served a seven year fraud sentence after losing more than $3 million in Nigerian e-mail scams.
