No Longer Separated: Christina Aguilera Files for Divorce

What Christina Aguilera wants is a divorce.

The 29-year-old pop star filed Thursday to end her nearly five-year marriage to hubby Jordan Bratman, making the split official days after confirming her separation, People and TMZ reported.

In documents filed with the Los Angeles Superior Court and posted by TMZ, Aguilera listed September 11 as the date of the pair’s separation and cited “irreconcilable differences” as the relationship dealbreaker.

The “What a Girl Wants” singer requested joint physical and legal custody of the ex-couple’s 2-year-old son, Max, and asked to keep “miscellaneous jewelry and other personal effects.”

“Earnings and accumulations of Petitioner before marriage, during marriage and from and after the date of separation” should also be confirmed as separate property, Aguilera said in court papers.

The documents also revealed the existence of a prenup to divide “additional separate property assets and obligations.”

Bratman, a music marketing exec, began dating Aguilera in 2002, according to E! Online.

The couple wed in November 2005 at a Napa Valley, Calif. estate. Max Liron Bratman was born in January 2008.

“Although Jordan and I are separated, our commitment to our son Max remains as strong as ever,” Aguilera told People on Tuesday.
