Jesse James has checked himself into a “treatment facility” in the hopes of saving his marriage to Sandra Bullock, his rep said in a statement.
In the wake of a cheating scandal, James sought professional help on March 26, a rep for the reality TV star told People.
"Jesse checked himself into a treatment facility to deal with personal issues," the rep said. "He realized that this time was crucial to help himself, help his family and help save his marriage."
While the statement did not elaborate on the exact nature of James’ treatment, the idea to enter a facility was “100 percent his own idea,” People reported, citing an anonymous source.
Last week, reps for both James and Bullock shot down reports the couple were shopping for divorce lawyers.
News of James’ latest move comes nearly a month after Bullock, his wife of nearly five years, was blindsided by allegations on the heels of her best actress Oscar win that her husband had been stepping out on her with a tattooed temptress.
Following tattoo model Michelle "Bombshell" McGee's infidelity claims, Bullock canceled appearances at high-profile European premieres for “The Blind Side” and went into seclusion.
Bullock reportedly moved out of the family home -- even as more women came forward claiming affairs with her husband.

In a single vaguely worded statement two weeks ago, James conceded “poor judgment” and apologized to Bullock and his three children from previous marriages for causing them “pain and embarrassment beyond comprehension.”
He also asserted the “vast majority of the allegations reported are untrue and unfounded” but that he "deserved everything bad" that might come his way.
Until checking in for treatment, the "Jesse James is a Dead Man" star had been spotted working at his West Coast Choppers bike shop in Long Beach, California.
