Glam Slam: Summertime… and The Livin's Easy

Lindsay Lohan, Lisa Rinna, Mena Suvari, Rachel Zoe and yours truly hit the beach for a chic Malibu clambake to celebrate Lia Sophia's latest "Red Carpet Celebrity Collection" of jewelry.

Held at a cliffside estate overlooking the Pacific, a crowd of beautiful people lazed in the sun, enjoying the view and grooving to tunes spun by a DJ. Lindsay danced to Michael Jackson songs. There was plenty of food… clams and lobster rolls screamed "East Coast," while coconut water (from Vita Coco) added a tropical vibe to the sunny and very hot day.

Talk about an amazing backdrop to view the new jewelry collection, Cape Town III, inspired by South Africa's "It" destination. The line includes gold necklaces, rings, bracelets and bangles featuring glossy enamel and sparkling crystals. For me, the pieces that best exemplify Cape Town are the Safari Zebra Cuffs and rings - bold statement pieces in bright colors.

Lisa, who was celebrating her birthday with husband Harry Hamlin and their two kids at the event, checked out the line with her adorable daughters.

"I love this collection because it's fun and it's fashionable… and it makes a statement," she says.

The jewelry has jet set appeal, which must be why everyone from Miley Cyrus to Eva Longoria Parker and Angelina Jolie are fans.

"It's fun jewelry that you can like layer and stack," suggests Rachel Zoe, who says you can wear it anywhere. "That's the beauty of it. You can wear it casually during the day and then you can dress it up at night. It's fantastic."
