Fantasia's Married Beau Says Blame Me, Not Her

Singer has been seen with N.C. man since overdose

Don't call Fantasia a homewrecker, says the man whose sex tape with the former "American Idol" champ blew up his marriage.

Fantasia, who won season 3 of the Fox hit, overdosed last week after her name was made public in court papers and news of the sex tape surfaced. But Antwaun Cook says his estranged wife's claims that the singer, whose full name is Fantasia Barrino, ruined their marriage are unfair.

"Antwaun would be remiss not to address the criticism and judgment he has received," Cook's lawyer, Nicole Sodoma, said in a statement. "[Paula and Antwaun] expected their marriage to stand the test of time. Unfortunately, like many marriages, it did not turn out as planned," the statement continued. "In late summer 2009, after years of discussion, the parties separated with the intention of no longer being married... the failure of his marriage can in no way be blamed on anyone except the two people that were a part of the union - Paula and Antwaun."

Cook's wife, however, stated in court documents that the couple split on June 16, 2010.

Fantasia, 26, was been spotted with Cook at a park near her home in North Carolina, with a camera crew for her VH1 reality show, "Fantasia for Real" reportedly in tow, according to People magazine. She has acknowledged dating Cook on and off for nearly a year, but says she thought he was separated from his wife.
