Charlie Sheen was arrested in Aspen, Colo. on charges related to an alleged case of domestic violence. Authorities said Sheen was arrested Friday on charges of second-degree assault as well as menacing, both felonies, and criminal mischief, a misdemeanor.
Actor Charlie Sheen's wife told police this weekend that the "Two and a Half Men" star threatened to kill her and held a knife to her throat during an altercation in their Colorado home, according to a police report released Monday.
Brooke Mueller, the mother of Sheen's two children, told police in Pitkin County, Colo., that Sheen became enraged when she requested a divorce, the police report released to E! Online shows.
Sheen "grabbed Mueller by the upper part of the throat while straddling her on the bed," the report reads. The actor then threatened Mueller, saying "You better be in fear. If you tell anybody, I'll kill you.
"Your mother's money means nothing, I have ex-police I can hire who know how to get the job done and they won't leave any trace," Sheen told Mueller, according to her statement in the report.
Aspen police on Monday also released a 911 call featuring a frantic woman, who identified herself as Brooke, saying her husband Charlie Sheen threatened to kill her.
"I thought I was going to die for one hour," said the tearful caller.
During the call, Brooke said she was threatened with a switchblade, "like a pocket knife."
Operator: "OK, tell me exactly what happened."
Brooke: "My husband had me … with a knife and I feared for my life and he threatened me."
Operator: "OK, are you guys separated right now?"
Brooke: "Ya right now. We have people that are separating us but I have to file the report or…"
Operator: "There are other people there? Does he still have the knife?"
Brooke: "Ya, he still does but there's other people here."
Operator: "Who are the other people that are there?"
Brooke: "We have people here. My family is here but right now if I don't file this … I need to file it right now."
Operator: "OK, where is he with the knife?"
Brooke: "He's in the other room."
Sheen was arrested Friday on suspicion of menacing, second-degree assault and criminal mischief. He has since been released on $8,500 bond.
The Christmas incident stemmed from a night of drinking, according to People magazine.
"They were fighting at a dinner in a friend's house and it continued until the next morning," said a People magazine source.
"Both of them were drinking and neither was supposed to be," the source said. "They both have histories of alcohol abuse and have made every effort to stop. But things got out of hand."
