Bret Michaels: “Busty Cops 3” Triggered Hemorrhage

Jokes that flipping channels between sports and porn blew his mind

Rocker Bret Michaels advanced a novel new medical theory to explain his near-fatal brain hemorrhage last month: He was watching "Busty Cops 3."

"I was going back and forth from "SportsCenter" to "Busty Cops 3,'" the Poison frontman and finalist on NBC's "Celebrity Apprentice" told Rolling Stone. "Maybe that's what did it!"

If big-breasted women in skimpy outfits or less actually pose a health hazard to Michaels, he will need to make major lifestyle adjustments. Long before his surprising success on the Donald Trump-hosted TV show, Michaels began starring in a still-running MTV show, "Rock of Love," in which dozens of groupie-type babes vie for his affections.

On April 22, Michaels, 47, suffered a subarachnoid hemorrhage, an often fatal condition from which even survivors often never fully recover.

Michaels told Rolling Stone his recovery playlist includes predictable rock n roll dinosaurs Aerosmith, Kiss and AC/DC, but said he heard the much more mellow "American Pie" with after being discharged from the hospital in Arizona and was moved.

"When I heard lines like, 'This'll be the day that I die' ... I get chills just thinking about it," he told the music industry mag.

Michaels plans to return to Sunday night's live finale of "The Celebrity Apprentice," the Donald Trump-hosted show in which he and Holly Robinson Peete are the two finalists from episodes taped late last year. The show airs on NBC at 9 p.m. EST.

Win or lose, the Poison singer plans to resume his band's tour on May 28 with a show in Biloxi, Miss. Already a reality TV veteran from his "Rock of Love" show, Michaels will star in VH1's "Bret Michaels: Life as I Know It," which premieres May 31.
