NBC 7/39 honors a true American hero; César Estrada Chávez , a civil rights, Latino, farm worker, and labor leader; a religious and spiritual figure; a community servant and social entrepreneur; a crusader for nonviolent social change; and an environmentalist and consumer advocate. He is considered a hero for farm laborers, worked to help keep wages higher and improve work safety rules. He is hailed as one of the greatest American civil rights leaders.
