Go Green at ShamRock ’09
Sixth & Market, Downtown: The hub for St Patty’s Day festivities in SD. Lad’s and Lass’s will scamper, jig and crawl over the Irish-green AstroTurf covering thousands of square feet of the Gaslamp District.
ShamRock promises unbridled fun and entertainment, with music performances including the notoriously hard-rocking Young Dubliners as well as the local-based Celtic punk band, The Fooks. Local Celtic bands, DJ’s as well as traditional Irish dancers will take stage throughout the venue to entertain the (expected) 20,000 sipping celebrators roving about.
With all that green beer flowing, authentic Irish fare will pair perfectly to round out the holiday celebration. Then work off those pints and corned beef and cabbage with dancing till midnight.
For those of us fresh off the Mardi Gras repentance wagon, ShamRock is the greenest way to ring in Spring!
Tickets- $20 in advance/ $25 at the gate- include admission and food/drink specials at participating Gaslamp restaurants and bars. This event is 21-and-up only.
