Greater Palm Springs Pride

PALM SPRINGS PRIDE: While the West Hollywood and San Diego pride celebrations happen each year around June and July respectively, that pretty city  in the desert waits for a bit of cooling off to throw its grand parade, and all the attending events. A wise plan, weather-wise, plus figure this; just when enough time has passed, and you get to wishing for another mondo fun-filled weekend, it is time for Palm Springs Pride.

AUTHORS VILLAGE TO BIG TOP CABARET: The Palm Canyon Drive parade is the famous centerpiece of the 24-year-old fest, of course, but there are several events that are emblematic of the weekend's motto: Stand Up, Stand Out, Stand Proud! Mr. Armistead Maupin, that "Tales" titan, will be one of the headliners at the Authors Village -- exclamation points !!!!, right? -- as well as several other top-notch authors. And the Big Top Cabaret will bring the full-scale entertainmenting, which can also be found at other locations around Palm Springs throughout the weekend. (The always stylish Martha Davis and The Motels will be rocking out.) You'll want specific times on various author sightings and events before going P.S., note. The parade itself is on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 10 a.m.
