The Saguaro's Coachella Weekender

A limited number of Coachella packages are still available.

THE DESERT POOL PARTY: For a brief moment this week we thought the classic desert resort pool party, one of the centerpieces of any Coachella Festival, was in trouble. In a word? Rain. But the more we check the forecast for one of the most famous music confabs on the planet the sunnier skies seem (okay, Friday, April 13 continues to live up to its Friday the 13th-y reputation; it looks damp). Because beyond seeing your favorite band, and beyond discovering a new act or two you'll come to love, and beyond taking in some of the art around the Coachella grounds, you want to do one thing during your getaway: lounge poolside. Which is why we keep the orbs peeled for parties of a pooly nature during Coachella week. And alas, we heard about a good one, and we heard something better, too: There's still room, which is a rarity at this point. Want details?

HERE THEY ARE: The Saguaro, the new Palm Springs hotel from Joie de Vivre, has a Desert Weekender going from April 13 through 15. LA's own KCRW will be doing the pool-close DJing, and there will be a handful of live performances, too. Plus Saguaro's savory eats (celeb chef Jose Garces is the man behind the menus). Package costs start at $380 and a "limited" number remain, says the hotel. Going to the festival? Need your swanky scene pooltime? You're good to go here.

THE LATEST: We learned on April 10 that the hotel has a few rooms still left for $199 a night (that's a 2-night minimum, note).
