Some twenty two years later, Taste of Orange County is back. It will be dishing up the good stuff in Irvine on June 16 and 17.
IRVINE EATS: No doubt about it, Orange County is flush with Taste Ofs. Practically every city and town throws a week-long spotlight on a particularly locale and its best restaurants. But a county-wide party? That's a much bigger deal. And that much bigger deal got a bit of love this week when it was announced that, after a 22-year hiatus, Taste of Orange County would be back. It will return to Irvine on Saturday, June 16 and Sunday, June 17.
LARGE LOCATION: If you have a question about how big this thing might be, consider that it is headed for Verizon Wireless Amphitheater. Enough said in that regard? Good. It'll be big, with crowds of 20,000 expected over the two days. About 50 restaurants and 75 wineries will be boothing it up. The festival also says it will soon announced stay-over packages in the area.
TASTE OF SOLVANG: Should you want to get your Taste Of on sooner, you can; Solvang is set for March 14-18. Yep, dessert will be a major part of the multi-day to-do, as it should be, as will wine. There's also a walking smorgaasbord on Saturday, March 17.
