Oscar Eats at Terranea

OSCAR FOOD: Hmm. We're sitting here wondering if there's a tradition of eating and the Academy Awards. Thinking, thinking. Oh, right. There is. In fact, after the handing out of the statues, supping is probably the second biggest Oscar-related activity, at least for watchers at home. And the long-standing tradition of theming plates to the nominees continues to hold in certain quarters, and for this we can all be glad. Whimsy lives. Terranea in Rancho Palos Verdes is offering a fully themed Best Picture nominee menu, and just on Sunday, Feb. 27.

THE PLATES: Mr. Potato Head Tots for "Toy Story 3." A Zucker Burger for "The Social Network." And our favorite: Paris Upside Down Cake. Of course you know the film, yes? The plates are priced $9 to $28, resort chef Michael Fiorelli is behind the creations, and the dining'll be happening at mar'sel at Terranea. Call the resort for more menu info, and further reservation information.
