Omni La Costa: Splash & Stay Package

Pondering some pool time? Go Carlsbad (and don't forget your swimsuit).

SPRING BREAK... in a close-to-the-surf spot is pretty nifty, however you look at it. You have the sand nearby, and some sunshine, most likely, and the sorts of eateries and shops that cater to a hang-ten, take-it-easy kind of vacation. But what isn't often seen in such places is that other symbol of March merriment, a bright-of-color flower. For sure, Pacific-pretty spots do have their palms, and sometimes ice plants or other flora that stays hearty in the briny air, but as far as finding flowers in massive, long-acreage form... that's harder. However, one glance in the direction of Carlsbad reveals that the charmer of a town has both. To the west there's the waves and castles made of sand, and just off the 5 Freeway? Ranunculus buds, so many of them, all in hue-bright, eye-wowza color, courtesy of the hard work done at The Flower Fields. If you'd like a bit of both, ocean and flower, consider making your spring trip to...

THE OMNI LA COSTA, which just happens to have a spring break-ready package on. It's called the Splash & Stay, and it has been fashioned for optimal family fun-time having. There's a welcome bag for each child in your group, and a hundred bucks to spend on food, and the Kidtopia Kids Club on the property. Plus? Waterslides at the swimming pool. As far as Kidtopia goes, you'll want to reserve your tot a spot (and, yep, this means you can spend the time they're playing at the club poolside a deux, or wherever else you'd like to go). Prices, dates, details? Here. Spring, and spring break, of course, are as fleeting as a flower in its prime or a wave on the shore, so best book soon, before March, then April, meld into May.
