Bubblefest XV

IRIDESCENT OUTING: When anticipated annual events reach year 15, they very often have something, an artifact or item, from a past year, to display. Say, a photo taken, or a sculpture, or the winning costume from three years back. But, of course, that isn't and cannot be the case with the Discovery Science Center's popular Bubblefest, which is indeed marking its 15th turn in 2011. Bubbles are some of the briefest and most beautiful wonders in the world, and they can barely hang on for a minute, much less a year. Which gives one even more reason to go, while the festival is on.

APRIL 2-24: Bubblefest'll have a three-week run in Santa Ana, meaning you'll have several days to swing by for the Mega Bubble Show, which has a bubble carousel (let's break out a few exclamation points for that one, shall we? So: !!!!). You'll also be able to create, and potentially stand inside, your own soapy shell. There's a host of bubblerific goings-on during Bubblefest, in fact. Bubblefest isn't as brief as a bubble, but it will pop before you know it. Ticket/hour info
