A Sweet Treat Inside the Haunted Mansion

A Disneyland attraction shows how a seasonal centerpiece came together.

LEAN FORWARD: If you've been on the new Luigi's Flying Tires ride in Cars Land at Disney California Adventure, you know there are several signs along the queue that recommend "leaning" tips to make the flying tires move. But if you've lived in Southern California long enough, and you've made a few trips to the Happiest Place on Earth, you know that you tend to lean on a lot of rides. You lean away from the Abominable Snow Man on the Matterhorn and you lean closer to see the details in it's a small world and you lean every which way on the Mad Tea Party tea cups. But our biggest lean forward moment? It's in the Haunted Mansion, as you go by the ballroom; we want to see every last detail, from the carriage that's crashed through one wall to the ghost partying up in the chandelier.

Now there's an even better reason to lean in for a better look during that particular part of the Mansion: the Haunted Mansion Gingerbread House. It sits in the middle of the ballroom, it has a "Nightmare Before Christmas" theme -- of course, given the fact that the attraction is currently wearing its Burton-esque best through Jan. 6 -- and it moves. It moves! We can barely make the four walls of our own gingerbread house creations stick together with frosting. For more on how this ceiling-reaching sweet came together, there's video:
