20TH YEAR: When the Sawdust Art Festival calls it a summer in Laguna Beach each year, one could be tempted to feel a tiny bit of sadness at another good thing saying farewell. But it is a tad easier with the longtime art-and-shop show, given that its annual Winter Fantasy pops up not long after the summer spectacular bids goodbye.
170+ EXHIBITORS: If you've ever been to an arts-and-crafts show, you know that is an impressive, stay-awhile number. And you know you'll find creative holiday gifts, too. But if you've only done the summer Sawdust, and not the winter, you should note that the colder outing only lasts for four weekends (the summer fest stretches for a few months). Everything gets going this year on Saturday, Nov. 20, which also happens to be the date of the big tree lighting. (Word is Santa himself will be in the oh-so-fairy-tale-ish house as well.)
