Pro-Am Time in Pebble Beach

Bill Murray'll be back, as will some of the major golf stars.

GOLF GREATS: And great golf. And yes, some star ogling. And yes, some ocean ogling, too. There are few golf tournaments that command the prestige and all-out star wattage of the AT&T Pebble Beach National Pro-Am. One? Pebble Beach. Could Pebble Beach's slogan simply be "Pebble Beach"? Because we feel like saying anything else might be gilding the lily (or, um, watering the sand trap, perhaps). And two? The players. Golf's headlining names have a way of turning up for the February tourney -- Phil Mickelson and Dustin Johnson are two of the high-profile names on the high-profile professionals roster -- as do stars. As in movie stars, singing stars, and yep, the occasional athlete paying a call from another sport. Tom Brady of the Patriots is set to swing this year, as are Michael Bolton, George Lopez, Don Cheadle, Josh Duhamel, and, yep, Bill Murray, who was seen at last year's Pro-Am standing next to golfer D.A. Points and one sparkly trophy. (They won, if we aren't being transparent enough.)

ACCOMOS AND SUCH: If you need a spot to stay over, the site has a helpful round-up of places to start. You'll also want to eye the schedule to see when the charity rounds take place and when the action starts to heat up. The tourney is on from Monday, Feb. 6 through Sunday, Feb. 12, so look to that weekend for the big swings, if that's what you want to be there for.
