Inn at Laguna Beach's Fresh Look

The classic water-close hotel gets a renovation.

RENOVATION UPDATE: A hotel's refresh? It's almost always a major undertaking, given the fact that a hotel is, well, a hotel; there are rooms and hallways and public spaces that aren't used every so often but every day and by multiple guests. So when the work is done and the hammers have been laid down and the wrapping is off, it is a big deal indeed. The Inn at Laguna Beach recently underwent an extensive overhaul for the first time in several years; bamboo furniture and other shoreline-sweet touches, were added to the hotel's 70 rooms. And when the property debuted its new look in June, it was just in time; Laguna Beach is a hubbub of art and performance activities come July and August.

BUT IF YOU WANT QUIET... You can look past the closing of the Festival of the Arts to fall, which is a really good time to make for the water-close town. The Pacific Terrace's new fire pit will likely be aflame come cooler days (the words "terrace," "fire pit," and "beach town" are instant de-stressers, we find). As for the hotel's special offers? There's one for pet lovers and there's one for people who want to try their hand at stand-up paddle-boarding. For more peeks at the Coast Highway-based hotel's new look, take a gander around the site. We're off to daydream about firepits and fall now, so please excuse us.
