Sounds Like San Diego: October 14

I don't know about you, but sometimes I get bummed out that there are too many great shows in San Diego at the same time. I can't be at West Coast Tavern and House of Blues and the Casbah all at once, but if I could, I'd be at all of these great shows tonight.

Foals return to San Diego for the first time since 2008's Street Scene, and though their debut release, Antidotes, put them on the map, their sophomore release, Total Life Forever, really put them on the map, as evidenced by how quickly the show sold out. My favorite Scotsmen, Frightened Rabbit, also return to San Diego tonight, and I suspect their show at the House of Blues will likely sell out as well. Around town, locals Drew Andrews and Manuok return for a free show at the Whistle Stop, and on the louder side of things, Rob Crow's project Mission:Valley takes over the tiny Tin Can. Take a look at the list and see just how many great shows there are in San Diego and then remind your friends of nights like tonight when they whine that San Diego is a sleepy town with nothing going on. They couldn't be more wrong.
