A Rescues Residency

The Rescues, a Los Angeles-based alt-pop foursome, have teamed up with Donovan's Circle of Fifths for a monthlong residency -- every Thursday in October -- for Thirsty Thursdays, a night of good music and martinis. Residencies, popular in Los Angeles, San Francisco and New York, are a great way for artists to establish a loyal, consistent fan base in a new city and/or venue.

The Rescues, supporting their full-length debut on Universal Republic, are hailed as a powerful live act with impeccable harmonies. The 50/50 male/female lineup met on the singer/songwriter circuit in L.A. and have been featured in T.V. shows, including One Tree Hill, Private Practice and Grey's Anatomy.

Grey's Anatomy, known for breaking many up-and-coming musicians (including former San Diegan Anya Marina), propelled the Rescues to national attention by featuring their pop-anthem "Break Me Out" in an episode. More recently, the band's music was featured in MTV’s The Buried Life.

No strangers to San Diego, The Rescues performed aboard the Hornblower over the summer to a capacity crowd during a 102.1/KPRi Private Listener Concert. Following enthusiastic reviews from attendees, the locally owned and operated radio station added the band into rotation. Additionally, whenever they get the opportunity, they perform with former San Diego resident Greg Laswell. In fact, after last Thursday's show at Donovan’s Circle of Fifths, the Rescues caught Laswell's show at the House of Blues (where he was opening for Sara Bareilles).

The Rescues are playing on Thursday night from 7-9 p.m. at Donovan's Circle of Fifths at 333 Fifth Ave.
