Katy Perry, Divas Salute Troops in San Diego

Big name celebrities and about 3,000 San Diegans came to Miramar’s Naval Air Station Friday night with one common goal: to support the troops.

The VH1 Divas Salute the Troops show was a free concert honoring local military and their families.

The concert, which aired Sunday on VH1, was inspired by Bob Hope’s famous USO tours. It was hosted by comedian Kathy Griffin and featured performances by Katy Perry, Paramore, Keri Hilson, Grace Potter and the Nocturnals, Sugarland and Nicki Minaj.

Other attendees and presenters included MTV’s Snookie and the Situation from "The Jersey Shore," as well as supermodel Marissa Miller and the Geico Caveman. Snookie, wearing a sailor’s cap with a big pink bow on the front, mentioned she was honored to be invited since her uncle was a veteran.

The Geico caveman claimed he was a diva because of his “natural ability for awesomeness.” His message to the Marines? “Keep up the fight.”
