Sango Ups the Warehouse Takeover Game

25-year-old Sango has already remixed Drake and collaborated with Tinashe

On June 3, San Diego event organizers the Travelers Club will be hosting the Warehouse Takeover, their latest in a series of live music and art shows that (according to their press release) are "carefully designed to pair vibrant local talent with large-scale acts."

Featuring multiple performance rooms and some of the city's top tier rappers (John Givez, JR Jarris, Jason Waterfalls) with over a dozen visual artists and a two-story venue, it's their largest installation to date.

It's also the collective's latest in an already impressive track record -- a resume that includes Future Standard at the House of Blues, a monthly Art & Rec at Park & Rec and a poetry reading in Barrio Logan called the Color Theory.

This time around they're bringing out Sango, the innovative 25-year-old Soulection producer who's remixed Drake, worked with Tinashe and also helped Bryson Tiller craft his 2015 RCA debut, TRAPSOUL, by way of his forward-facing sound that blends international samples with Southern, mid-'90s era 808 programming.

On Saturday, June 3, he'll be in town at the Warehouse Takeover at 2028 Hancock St. Doors open at 9 p.m.
