Between the rain and chill in the air, it finally feels like fall is upon us. While we gear up for plenty of events the weekend before and after Halloween, there is plenty to take in this weekend.

One of the highlights of Friday and Saturday is the OB Oktoberfest, featuring live music from Stranger, Hi Roots, Mike Pinto, Jet West and others. You can get more details via this link. One of my picks for Friday is King Khan & the Shrines at the Casbah, with support from Hell Shovel, Teenage Burritos and Shake Before Us. There’s also the 91X Resurrection Concert Series at Sycuan, with Modern English and the Romantics. At Bang Bang, get your dance on with Treasure Fingers and Colour Vision, while Voyeur features Jay Idol.

This Saturday, join me for Club Sabbat at Numb3rs in Hillcrest. DJ Dark Angel and I will be in the front room, and Diskdroid keeps it old school in the back room. Get more details hereMoonshake is back after a year, and it's taking over El Dorado, with DJs Mark Quark, Dazzla and Lee Reynolds. The always fun Booty Bassment hits the Whistle Stop with DJs Dimitri and Rob. Plus, May Star’s Fashion Whore hits U-31. Live show picks include the Rosalyns, Loons, Schitzophonics and Chinese Rocks at the Casbah, and the Hanging From the Rafters CD release party at Boar Cross’n.

On Sunday, check out the Golden Hill Street Fair, featuring Rafter, Tropical Popsicle, Strange Vine, Heavy Hawaii, Ed Ghost Tucker, Kill Quanti DJ sets and others. The free event is all-ages and takes place on 25th Street between B and C. My other pick is J. Roddy Waltson and the Business at Soda Bar.
Have a great weekend, and I’ll see you on the dance floor!
