Superstar Weekend

Last weekend was so insanely fun after recovering from that crazy blackout! I think everyone needed to let off some steam. Between the San Diego Music Thing and everything else that was happening, it took me a few days to catch up on sleep and get back on track. Halloween is just around the corner and you know how busy things will be next month. So for now, let's pace ourselves during this month of September.

Thursday night, the party will be raging at Fluxx as the electro/house/progressive DJ/production duo from Denver, Manufactured Superstars, do their magic with stylish NASA spacesuits, a 6-foot-tall teddy bear and who knows what else!?! Johnny James, Ayla Simone and Static Promenade will also be DJing throughout the night. Get more info hereCrookers rocked an 18-plus show this past Tuesday at Voyeur, and they're back for more Thursday night with the 21-plus crowd. Nick Catchdubs will do an opening set; you can get more details here.

Friday night, join me at Til-Two for Audio Kick, where Heather Hardcore and I will be spinning everything from electro to ‘80s to indie to darkwave. There’s no cover all night long, and we’ll be giving away Ladytron tickets for the show next Friday, Sept. 23, at House of Blues. Plus, tickets to see CSS at 4th & B on Oct. 7. Check out details via this link. At El Dorado, it’s a Mexican Independence Day soiree brought to you by Saul Q and starring “Erick Rincon” Monterrey. Other DJs include Miss Lady D, Hustlehoff, Office Twins, Kid Wonder and Beto. Check out more here

On Saturday, it’s the CD release party for Erika Starr at U-31, plus an opening set from Kid Wonder. Info is here for you. At House of Blues, Claude VonStroke and Justin Martin will be throwing down the tracks for your dancing pleasure. Ticket info via this link.

These are just a few of my favorite things. For more weekend details, visit my blog here. Have fun and I’ll see you on the dance floor!

Robin Roth is a familiar voice in the San Diego scene.  She is on the air weekdays from 10am to 2pm on 91X, plus she promotes and spins all over town.  For more info about upcoming gigs, check out her event blog. Follow Robin on Twitter @robin_roth or submit your DJ listings here.
