Although the doctors said Spencer Fox would never walk again, less than a year later, he is standing up and even taking steps.

On Sunday, the Belly Up is holding a benefit for the 13-year-old, who broke his neck in a snowboarding accident, leaving him almost completely paralyzed.

The Belly Up held an extremely successful benefit for Spencer last year, but, because the need for financial aid is still very real and Fox still has a long way to go, another fundraiser is being held this year on Feb. 20.

The benefit features Combo Libertad and Los Beautiful Beasts and will be hosted by Jay Isbell from FM 94.9’s The Mikey Show. There will be live and silent auctions, as well as an opportunity drawing.

Admission for the benefit is $25 per person, with all proceeds going to the NTAF Southwest Spinal Cord Injury Fund in honor of Spencer Fox. The event lasts from 3-7 p.m.

If you are unable to attend, you can make an online donation -- just enter "Spencer Fox" when prompted to “Find a Patient.”
