Sounds Like San Diego: Sept. 4

Thursday is a great night for music with some great choices. Humphrey's hosts the Retro Futura Tour, with Tom Bailey of Thompson Twins and Howard Jones; while Atmoshere bring their North of Hell Tour to the House of Blues. Meanwhile, the Casbah brings the Young Wild to the Irenic, while Big Sam's Funky Nation bring their Orleans style party to the Merrow. The Baseball Project are looping through town again at Soda Bar, and if you're unfamiliar with the baseball-themed songs, you might be familiar with members of the band, including Mike Mills and Peter Buck of R.E.M. Last but not least, Strand of Oaks returns to the Casbah, touring on what certainly may be his most cathartic album to date. For anyone who loves really heartfelt indie rock, this is the place to call home this evening.
