When I was a child, my family took semi-annual roadtrips to Tahoe and we'd stay in this random hotel in Santa Nella to break the drive into two days. It was built with faux mission architecture and my mom was convinced it had to be the inspiration for "Hotel California." Tonight, the Eagles play Petco Park, and I won't be there, but thousands of San Diegans will be, probably singing along to that very song. What I'm excited about is the Uateke Rock Fest happening at the Embarcadero, which brings together some of the best "rock en espanol" bands (like Los Aterciopelados) and SoundDiego favorite, Panteon Rococo. The Beach Boys are also in town at Humphreys, Nothing play Soda Bar and the Schizos are back at the Casbah.
