Sounds Like San Diego: September 2

Naturally, there are some bands that get a bit more enthusiasm from me than others. On Sunday, there are so many great things happening around town -- pool parties, daytime shows and a highly anticipated sold out show at the Birch North Park Theatre with the Tallest Man on Earth -- but nothing gets me quite as happy as Two Gallants performing at the Casbah. Back when it was a little bit harder to navigate the Internet (although it doesn't seem so long ago), Two Gallants was one of the first bands I "discovered" from InSound, which was at the times a bare-bones online record store. I fell in love with the band and all of its subsequent records. They took a hiatus, with both members putting out records under alternate projects, but this week they release their first record in five years, and they're leading up to that release with a show at the Casbah on Sunday. If you've seen them, you already love them, and if you haven't, this is your chance to find your next favorite band and rediscover their old catalog while eating up their new record, The Bloom and the Blight.
